Thank You Fans! / (fall) Cleaning

Thanks again fans for a great 2008! We have had some awesome moments at the ball park because of you. It is hard to believe it is over, but it is time once again to shut down the seasonal aspects of the ball park. Don't worry though, the front office works (just) as hard during the off season too. We will be here all winter long, getting ready for an even better 2009. Stay tuned for updates throughout the off season. Also, we want to hear from you! Feel free to voice your opinions on the blog!

Thanks again fans, and we will see you in 2009!

All-Star Meeting #2

The front office is about to go into our second All-Star Game brain storming meeting. Since our first meeting, many ideas have begun to spring into action and it will be great to see where everyone's heads are at and any sort of progress we have made. Update to follow.

The Rally Pop!

During today's nail biting extra inning win, members of the Newark Bears front office staff strategically all "popped" the collar of their staff shirts to signify what is now being called "The Rally Pop" - only moments later, Bear's outfielder, Jose Herrera went on to hit the game winning home run. Coincidence? We think not. Regardless, the rally pop will stay in affect as the Bears head into the highly contested series against the York Revolution. Pop your collars y'all!

live blog

hi from the press box. We are currently in our 16th inning of baseball tonight here at the den. Although the Bears dropped the first game, all of the High School Musical activities were a blast and it seemed as if the crowd had a great time. You can never get enough baseball. See you here again tomorrow!

Cory the Composer

At Bears Blog, we receive a lot of questions in regards to the player's introduction music. Well, 3 new songs that were added to the rotation yesterday for Matt Smith, Cory Willey, and Andy Shibilo were actually composed by Cory Willey himself. Be sure to keep an ear open for these musical works at your next Bears game!

Paul's Big Debut!

Tonight, fans in attendance will be treated to a special guest on-field host. Media relations intern and (sometimes) road game radio broadcaster, Paul Roper (aka "The Poo" or "Dope Rope") will take the field and assume the role of in-game entertainment emcee. Paul has been practicing very hard, and we are all excited to see how his radio skills will translate to the mascot race, puzzle party, and much much more. See you at the ball park!
